H4 Boer Goats

Hi, and welcome to our site! We are Mike, Alta, Matt, and Jared Hopkins of H4 Boer Goats. We first started raising goats in 2002 strictly for brush control around our property and to give our sons a project to teach them responsibility and to continue to help them develop a strong work ethic.  As the boys went through their local 4-H and FFA programs, we started showing whethers at the county level but our love was always in the selective breeding and kidding out of goats on our own. We began to do a lot of asking and looking around and really became fascinated with the red
boer goat. We bought our first red buck, Lazy S-T Red Raider (brother to Ennobled Red Ryder) at the Color Connection Sale from Randy and Cindy Dusek, and have been hooked ever since. We have recently started to move our focus more into the traditional boers, but you will see us breed and show reds, spots, paints, and traditionals as we really prefer a solid animal over any particular color. If you take a look at our breeding stock and other pages, you will get a feel for what we have and what we like.
This is still a family building project first, but you will see we are proud to offer some great genetics for anyone to consider.
